The End Of The World 2010 Doomsday Prophecy

End Of The World 2010 Doomsday Prophecy

There is an increasing awareness of something called the end of the world 2012 doomsday prophecy. This is not surprising as we are getting closer to the year 2012. But what is this doomsday prophecy and were does it originate from.

It's common to most religions, some sort of cataclysm. In the Bible it's the book of Revelations and in the old Norse religion it's called Ragnarök. Other religions have them, the differ only in the form.

So what is this end of the world 2012 doomsday prophecy? The truth is, it's all based on guesswork. The date is thought to be found by reading a Mayan calendar that was discovered in 1790 by workers doing repairs in Mexico City.

The Mayan Calendar

The Mayans didn't discover the calendar as it seems to be a variation of an Aztec calendar. But why the date. Well the Mayan Calendar is not calculated as with the traditional Western calendar, but has to be written out day by day.

Normal traditional Western calendar can be calculated as it has a fixed length of the weeks and months. One other aspect is that the Western calendar is not fixing the seasons to days, but rather periods.

The Mayan calendar on the other hand picked the dates when planting should commence and the harvest begin. For this reason the calendar was written days in advance, or centuries, as it seems to have been the case.

The end of the world 2012 prophecy is found out by the fact that the Mayan calendar ends on the 21st of December 2012. That's basically it. Why it ended on this date is not know. The reason might simply be that the civilization came to an end and the one working on the calendar had to end at a point.

Others claim that the date depicts an end of a cycle and that this cycle is a major cycle that would result in a major cataclysm.

Others put a less strong meaning into this last date of the calendar and claim this to be a beginning as well as an end. They point out that a cyclical movement tends to start counting from zero when the last cycle reaches its end, a bit like a counter that reaches 0000 after having gone to 9999.

Many claiming the end of the world 2012 doomsday prophecy to be true, point to Nostradamus and claim he had foreseen a cataclysm at this date.

The thing with Nostradamus, is that he wrote his prophecies in cryptic poems and most of them have only been decrypted after the event has occurred.

There are some poems that can be interpreted to foresee a big war or conflict at the end of the 20th century or the beginning of the 21st. But there are no exact dates or for that matter descriptions. There is only some poems that talk about a great war at the end of the 20th century and a more than a 3000 years of peace to follow.

So Nostradamus never gave an exact date to his prophecy, he actually never gave a clear prophecy regarding this event.

Edgar Cayce

One of the most famous psychics of the 20th century, was Edgar Cayce. Many point to him when they promote the end of the world 2012 doomsday prophecy.

Edgar Cayce gave his predictions through a trance like state. He gave many readings about a potential end of the world around the year 2000. One of the things he described was a cataclysmic destruction of land …

Watch New York, Connecticut and the like. Many portions of the east coast will be disturbed, as well as many portions of the west coast, as well as the central portion of the United States. Los Angeles, San Francisco, most of all these will be among those that will be destroyed before New York, or New York City itself, will in the main disappear. This will be another generation though, here; while the southern portions of Carolina, Georgia, these will disappear. This will be much sooner. The waters of the Great Lakes will empty into the Gulf of Mexico.

There is amble predictions that can be related to coming cataclysmic events, but they all come from sources that by them self, don't say much. The only thing that is certain, is that ideas about an end of the world 2012 doomsday prophecy are abundant.

The End of The World 2012 Doomsday Prophecy

So what should we expect in 2012. I suspect that there will be a major shift in human civilization in the near future, and 2012 is as good a date as any. This is not a prophecy, but rather my personal view after having followed human behavior the last few decades.

The world is going through difficult times and the egocentric attitude that has been growing the last several years, will at a point have to come to an end or we as a community of civilized individuals will perish.

There is an ever increasing awareness in the world, an awareness that is leading more and more individuals towards a more fulfilling and spiritual way of life.

I believe that the end of the world 2012 doomsday prophecy is more related to a change in the way we as humans interact between our self and the nature, than some super cataclysmic series of natural disasters. I believe the time has come, when humans will move on to another level in their way of life.

One of the things I believe will have to change, is the way the world looks at money. The present monetary system not just contradicts the worlds largest religion believes, but it contradicts common sense and the interest of human societies.

A monetary reform is necessary for one simple reason. The present system will inevitably result in the loss of property and mental slavery of the majority of individuals living on this earth.

Wallace D. Wattles wrote in his book The Science of Getting Rich ...

I am aware that there are men who get a vast amount of money by proceeding in direct opposition to the statements in the paragraph above, and may add a word of explanation here. Men of the plutocratic type, who become very rich, do so sometimes purely by their extraordinary ability on the plane of competition; and sometimes they unconsciously relate themselves to Substance in its great purposes and movements for the general racial upbuilding through industrial evolution. Rockefeller, Carnegie, Morgan, et al., have been the unconscious agents of the Supreme in the necessary work of systematizing and organizing productive industry; and in the end, their work will contribute immensely toward increased life for all. Their day is nearly over; they have organized production, and will soon be succeeded by the agents of the multitude, who will organize the machinery of distribution.

I believe this time has come, the time when the society will advance from the egocentric ways of yesterday and embrace the individual who understands that the betterment of society will always lead to his own betterment.
