Express Gratitude

I’ve often said that religious people are usually more happy than those who claim to be none religious, even claim to be none believers. This is something that has raised aggressive responses from the none religious, who claim that a lot of none religious people are happy.

I agree that there are happy none religious people out there. But I stand by my statement, that happiness is more common among religious ones.

This said, we should look for the reason. When I say religious, I’m not favouring Christians to Muslims or Jews, Hindus or Buddhists. The religion in it self does not matter. What matters is the preaching of the religion.

Most religions in the world emphasize the importance for people to express gratitude.

Express gratitude

Expressing gratitude is perhaps the most important thing anyone, who is serious about his self-help work, can do. Those individuals that express gratitude are more content with the life they live and what is happening around them. A person that is content, is a person without worries.

And that is where we see the importance for people to express gratitude. Happiness comes to those that do not worry. This is why I’m convinced that religious people are more happy than those who are not.

To express gratitude is not something that is confined to religious people, but is something we can all do. I would not be surprised to find out that those happy none religious individuals are people that regularly express gratitude.

Self-help and gratitude

For those serious about their self-help work, expressing gratitude can not be emphasized strongly enough.

It’s important for everyone to express gratitude and that can be done in many ways. One way to do that from a self-help point of view, is to express gratitude for what you have been given, what you will receive in the future and what you’re receiving now.

Expressing gratitude also reduces fear and as fear is the biggest obstacle towards true happiness, expressing gratitude is one of the best way to conquer it. Individuals that are grateful for what life has to offer, see little reason to be worried about the future.

For those who want to keep it simple, just say thanks, thanks for this day, thanks for the opportunity to do the things they do.
